DESCRIPTION:Grassroots vegan street activism challenging the belief that an
imals exist for humans to use\n\nEVENT INFO\nWelcome to Earthlings Experie
nce London\, where vegan activists come together to spread the truth about
veganism. We use footage to spark conversations with the public.\n\nDepen
ding on the time of year\, we use a projector & screen or TV(s) and other
devices. \nWe sometimes take the outreach to London’s underground during
very rainy weather. \n\nWe hold two fixed events a week: \nWednesdays fro
 m 6PM ’til 8PM by Shakespeare's Head\, Carnaby Street/Great Marlborough
 Street W1F 7HZ.\nSaturdays 6PM ’til 8PM by Empire Casino\, Leicester Squ
are. \n\nIf you would like to bring a device\, please feel free to downloa
d any of the videos from this link:\nhttps://drive.google.com/drive/folder

MLZk9nNdyod3gELbvbke7hGbef7oXY\n\nWe have posters and placards to hold\, a
nd information to hand out.\n\nWe also have full-face masks for those who
wish to wear them. \n\nAlthough there’s no formal dress code for Earthli
ngs Experience\, our focus is raising awareness for nonhuman species. Plea
se ensure that your presence and conversations reflect this\, so the focus
remains on them rather than on personal appearance.\n\nWe don’t discuss
another person’s diet\, as that shifts the focus to humans.\nWe don’t
promote “baby steps” or congratulate members of the public for partia
l changes\, as that also centres the conversation on them.\nOur focus is c
hallenging the belief that other sentient species exist for human use.\n\n
The outreach is strictly abolitionist.\nBe they land\, water or air animal
s\, we must recognise that they have moral value and are not things.\nWe m
ust stop using them as resources of any kind. \nWe must stop exploiting th
em in any way. \nWe must dismantle the belief that they exist for us. \nW
e must dismantle the belief that they are property. \n\nThe Earthlings Exp
erience welcomes vegans to become active. Scroll down for the meaning of v
eganism. \nThose new to this type of street activism are asked to hold a d
evice or placard\, or to shadow another activist until they’re ready to
have conversations with members of the public. Holding a device or placard
is as\, if not more\, important than chatting with the public simply beca
use they are often seen first. \n\nThe Importance of Regular Outreach\n\nT
his is not about us\; it's about amplifying the voices of nonhuman beings
exploited by humans.\n\nStreet activism relies on a small number of dedica
ted individuals\, but it shouldn't. With so many more who could join\, we
need greater participation. Personal engagement is vital. Even those who d
on’t stop to talk still see us\, and those moments help plant seeds of a
wareness.\n\nAs vegan animal rights activists and outreachers\, we must:\n
\nSpeak about rights\, not welfare.\n\nDemand moral consistency and reject
  injustice.\n\nReject 'baby steps' and utilitarianism.\n\nWe wouldn’t ac
cept gradual\, minor reforms for human injustices\, so why do so when it c
omes to other species? Campaigning against specific forms of cruelty\, abu
se\, suffering\, harm\, and violence only strengthens a welfarist ideology
  — the same approach that has stalled progress for over 200 years. Indus
try profiteers will continue making small changes\, claiming they’ve “
ended suffering\,” while welfarist organisations endorse them\, leading
the public to believe their choices are "humane."\n\nWelfarism pushes abol
itionism even further into the future.\n\nThe importance of Language\n\nWo
 rds matter: Talk about he\, she\, they\, and someone — not it\, that\, o
r something. Talk about amplifying voices\, not being their voice. Say fle
 sh\, not meat (‘meat’ is product-led language).\n\nPlants\n\nSentience
refers to the ability to have subjective experiences\, emotions\, or cons
ciousness. While plants respond to stimuli like light\, gravity\, and touc
h\, these reactions are biochemical and physiological — not conscious or
emotional.\nSome researchers argue that plants display a form of "intelli
gence" because they adapt to their environment\, communicate chemically\,
and exhibit memory-like behaviour. However\, this is vastly different from
sentience\, as it does not involve conscious thought or feelings.\nIf pla
nts were sentient\, it would reshape our moral obligations towards them. H
owever\, because they lack subjective experiences\, most ethical framework
s do not extend rights to them as they do to animals.\n\nhttps://facebook.
