DESCRIPTION:Grassroots vegan street activism challenging the belief that an
imals exist for humans to use\n\nIf it rains and it's continuous and heavy
\, we may move to the Carnaby Street end of Broadwick Street by Shaida Wal
king (walking woman) W1F 9PE. \n\nEVENT INFO\nWelcome to Earthlings Experi
ence London\, where vegan activists come together to spread the truth abou
t veganism. We use footage to spark conversations with the public.\n\nDepe
nding on the time of year\, we use a projector & screen or TV(s) and other
devices. \nWe sometimes take the outreach to London’s underground durin
g very rainy weather. \n\nWe hold two fixed events a week: \nWednesdays fr
 om 6PM ’til 8PM by Shakespeare's Head\, Carnaby Street/Great Marlborough
  Street W1F 7HZ.\nSaturdays 6PM ’til 8PM by Empire Casino\, Leicester Sq
uare. \n\nIf you would like to bring a device\, please feel free to downlo
ad any of the videos from this link:\nhttps://drive.google.com/drive/folde

OMLZk9nNdyod3gELbvbke7hGbef7oXY\n\nWe have posters and placards to hold\,
and information to hand out.\n\nWe also have full-face masks for those who
wish to wear them. \n\nAlthough there’s no formal dress code for Earthl
ings Experience\, our focus is raising awareness for nonhuman species. Ple
ase ensure that your presence and conversations reflect this\, so the focu
s remains on them rather than on personal appearance.\n\nWe don’t discus
s another person’s diet\, as that shifts the focus to humans.\nWe don’
t promote “baby steps” or congratulate members of the public for parti
al changes\, as that also centres the conversation on them.\nOur focus is
challenging the belief that other sentient species exist for human use.\n\
nThe outreach is strictly abolitionist.\nBe they land\, water or air anima
ls\, we must recognise that they have moral value and are not things.\nWe
must stop using them as resources of any kind. \nWe must stop exploiting t
hem in any way. \nWe must dismantle the belief that they exist for us. \n
We must dismantle the belief that they are property. \n\nThe Earthlings Ex
perience welcomes vegans to become active. Scroll down for the meaning of
veganism. \nThose new to this type of street activism are asked to hold a
device or placard\, or to shadow another activist until they’re ready to
have conversations with members of the public. Holding a device or placar
d is as\, if not more\, important than chatting with the public simply bec
ause they are often seen first. \n\nThe Importance of Regular Outreach\n\n
This is not about us\; it's about amplifying the voices of nonhuman beings
exploited by humans.\n\nStreet activism relies on a small number of dedic
ated individuals\, but it shouldn't. With so many more who could join\, we
need greater participation. Personal engagement is vital. Even those who
don’t stop to talk still see us\, and those moments help plant seeds of
awareness.\n\nAs vegan animal rights activists and outreachers\, we must:\
n\nSpeak about rights\, not welfare.\n\nDemand moral consistency and rejec
 t injustice.\n\nReject 'baby steps' and utilitarianism.\n\nWe wouldn’t a
ccept gradual\, minor reforms for human injustices\, so why do so when it
comes to other species? Campaigning against specific forms of cruelty\, ab
use\, suffering\, harm\, and violence only strengthens a welfarist ideolog
y — the same approach that has stalled progress for over 200 years. Indu
stry profiteers will continue making small changes\, claiming they’ve
“ended suffering\,” while welfarist organisations endorse them\, leadi
ng the public to believe their choices are "humane."\n\nWelfarism pushes a
bolitionism even further into the future.\n\nThe importance of Language\n\
 nWords matter: Talk about he\, she\, they\, and someone — not it\, that\
, or something. Talk about amplifying voices\, not being their voice. Say
 flesh\, not meat (‘meat’ is product-led language).\n\nPlants\n\nSentie
nce refers to the ability to have subjective experiences\, emotions\, or c
onsciousness. While plants respond to stimuli like light\, gravity\, and t
ouch\, these reactions are biochemical and physiological — not conscious
or emotional.\nSome researchers argue that plants display a form of "inte
lligence" because they adapt to their environment\, communicate chemically
\, and exhibit memory-like behaviour. However\, this is vastly different f
rom sentience\, as it does not involve conscious thought or feelings.\nIf
plants were sentient\, it would reshape our moral obligations towards them
. However\, because they lack subjective experiences\, most ethical framew
orks do not extend rights to them as they do to animals.\n\nhttps://facebo
