DESCRIPTION:Some of the strongest threads between generations are woven aro
und a table - through food\, stories\, and the simple act of making someth
ing together.\n\nWe’re inviting you to do just that.\n\nCome gather arou
nd the communal table for a hands-on afternoon of Lebanese cooking\, story
telling and connection with mother-daughter duo Siham & Justine from Dayaa
  School & Kitchen\, in collaboration with Good Flock.\n\nTogether\, we’l
l make Warak Enab from scratch\, following a cherished village recipe. We
’ll prepare tender grape vine leaves\, make a fragrant rice filling with
tomato\, parsley and homemade seven spice\, then roll each one by hand.\n
\nAs we cook\, Siham and Justine will share their knowledge\, tips and sto
ries - stories of family\, food\, culture and home\, and the traditions th
ey carry from one generation to the next. A reminder that recipes are love
letters to our ancestors. They hold the hands that taught us\, the people
and stories behind them\, the memories of where we come from\, and the ma
ny meals shared before us. \n\nWe’ll finish seated around the table for
lunch\, conversation and a little reflection:\n\nWhat do we carry with us?
\nWhat can we learn from those who came before?\nAnd what might we pass on
?\n\nNo cooking experience is needed. Whether you’re new to Lebanese coo
king or already love to cook\, come hungry and curious. You’ll leave wit
h new skills\, a full belly\, a warmed heart\, and your own Warak Enab to
take home and share.\n\nA traditional Warak Enab stone will also be availa
ble to purchase\, so you can keep rolling at home.\n\nWe can’t wait to g
ather\, cook and share stories with you.\n\nMeet the Organisers\nAbout Day
aa School & Kitchen\nDayaa School & Kitchen - founded by Justine and her m
other\, Siham (Sahtein Lebanese Feasts) - is a cooking school devoted to r
eviving ancestral Lebanese recipes that are being lost with displacement.
“Dayaa” means “village” in Arabic\, and through these classes\, Si
ham and Justine weave history\, hands-on learning and the joy of gathering
 . \n\nAbout Good Flock\nGood Flock is a not-for-profit organisation shapin
g a better future of ageing in Australia\, where all life stages are value
d\, generations are connected\, and care is shared within communities - al
l themes at the heart of Dayaa School & Kitchen.\n\nDietaries + Accessibil
ity\nPlease note: Warak Enab is vegan and gluten free\, and includes rice.
The lunch will also be vegan and gluten free. If you have any questions a
bout ingredients or dietary requirements\, please feel free to contact us
prior to booking to discuss: hello@goodflock.org\n\nWe always try to make
sure everyone feels welcome. However\, as this cooking workshop will be he
ld at the family home\, accessibility may be limited. There are 7 steps go
ing up to the house\, and 1 step from the inside to the backyard where the
workshop will be held. We do apologise for this. If this will be an issue
for you\, please do reach out at hello@goodflock.org and we can see what
 ’s possible.\n\nhttps://events.humanitix.com/recipes-we-carry\n\nMore in
