This data was collected from chains like Leon, Gail’s, Wasabi, Yo!, Wenzel’s, and Subway, indicating a growing demand for health-conscious and plant-based options among consumers.

Moreover, the rise in plant-based food consumption is not limited to the UK, as other countries such as the US, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, and others are also experiencing rapid growth in plant-based eating. A 2023 report found that 40% of British consumers desire plant-based alternatives to meat and dairy, reflecting a global trend towards more sustainable and ethical eating habits.
