Next demo: FRIDAY, July 24 from 8 to 9:30 pm! Normally at 5 o'clock every day at the Los Angeles Zoo, as patrons and staff begin exiting the facility, the animals in their enclosures and cages finally get some peace and quiet from the grumbling adults, whining kids and and mean teens. Except when they dont. Since zoos, like any capitalist entity, are always on the lookout for ways to further exploit their commodities, many have decided to turn into bars and discos after closing hours. And lord knows the failing LA Zoo needs that extra cash. This Friday is the third in its summer night event series, Zoo After Dark, and it's 80s Night with a full bar, live music and dancing with the cover band, Flashback Heart Attack. Appropriate name for all the stress and anxiety the animals will be feeling, right? Kids are welcome too because the sooner you can teach them that animals can be the mere backdrop of their nighttime entertainment, the better! Anyway as the bar patrons stumble out, we'll be there too. Join us as we have the final word. FRIDAY, July 24 from 8 to 9:30 pm / LA Zoo / 5333 Zoo Drive / Free parking. Whether you want to hold a sign, chant, do speakouts, take photos and videos, bang a drum, chalk, hand out flyers or talk to zoo goers, we have a place for you with our team! Flyers and posters are provided but we welcome your own handmade signs as well. YES megaphones, NO talking to cops. #zoosarejails #elephantsdontbelonginzoos #zooafterdark #freeBillyandTina #LAZoo Enjoy a beer, wine or your favorite cocktail! linktr.ee/lafagroup
