FOOD JUSTICE: YOUR COMMUNITY YOUR RESEARCH

Food is more than what's on our plates. It's culture, identity, health, connection and community. But for many people, access to affordable and nutritious food remains a challenge. This World Food Day, Coco Collective - Ital Community Gardens is highlighting the importance of understanding our communities' experiences of food and food insecurity. Through our Food Justice Community Research project, we want to better understand the food realities of melanin-rich communities in Lewisham, including the challenges people face when accessing food and the role of Black-led and Black-serving food businesses and organisations in supporting our communities.
