Throughout, in poems of grace and humor, she explores the interplay of memory, imagination and desire to give, as she says, "voice to the hope of shade" and a glimpse of who we might become as we seek safety and relief for the animals and for ourselves. Sherri Stepakoff is the author of 'Sanctuary at Unity Farm', her debut poetry collection. Her poems have appeared in print, online, and on video. She was the inaugural poet-in-residence at Unity Farm Sanctuary, a refuge for farmed animals in Sherborn, Massachusetts. Kathy Halamka is the co-founder with her husband John at Unity Farm Sanctuary in Sherborn MA. She is now also helping guide the new ventures of the Sanctuary: The Sanctuary Forest Preschool onsite, and Nirvana Tea House and Cafe. Nirvana Tea Talks are intimate events designed to inspire ideas that engage our CommunitTEA, enlighten the mind, and spread kindness. Advance ticket purchase recommended as seating is limited.
