80% of Veganuary participants eating >50% less meat, dairy & eggs six months after taking part

Veganuary • Oct 05, 2023
The results of a six-month follow-up survey of Veganuary 2023 participants show that 80% of those who were not vegan when they signed up have maintained a significant reduction in their consumption of meat, dairy, and eggs. Nearly two-thirds of participants have reported health benefits such as increased energy, improved mood, better skin, and desired changes in body weight after continuing to eat a fully vegan diet for the past six months.

The survey, sent to 469,000 Veganuary participants, revealed that 28% are still eating a fully vegan diet, 36% are consuming at least 75% less animal products, and 16% are eating at least 50% less meat, dairy, and eggs than before Veganuary. Veganuary's International Head of Communications, Toni Vernelli, emphasized the positive impact of cutting out meat and dairy not only on reducing carbon footprints but also on experiencing health benefits. She highlighted the success of Veganuary in driving long-lasting diet changes globally.
