Activists Exposed This Pig Gas Chamber And Now The Entire Site Has Been Flattened

Animal activists exposed a large pig gas chamber in the UK, leading to the demolition of the entire slaughterhouse site. The facility in Ashton-under-Lyne reportedly killed hundreds of thousands of pigs annually using highly concentrated carbon dioxide gas. Australian activist Joey Carbstrong and his team obtained footage from inside the gas chamber, showing pigs panicking and struggling in the gas, which ultimately led to the site's closure in 2023.
Carbstrong believes that the closure of the slaughterhouse contributed to a significant decline in the number of pigs slaughtered across the UK, representing a substantial loss of capacity in the pork industry. The demolition of the gas chamber and slaughterhouse is seen as a meaningful victory for animal rights activists in their efforts to disrupt the meat industry and bring attention to the treatment of animals in slaughter facilities.
