After 90 Years Of Dairy Chocolate Milk, Chocomel’s Vegan Version Launches In UK

Popular Dutch chocolate milk brand Chocomel is introducing a plant-based version of its iconic drink to the UK market. Owned by FrieslandCampina, the dairy-free Chocomel Plant-Based was developed with cocoa, cashews, and pea protein to cater to the rising demand for animal-free dairy products, especially among the three percent of UK consumers who are vegan.

Chocomel took great care to ensure that the plant-based version closely replicates the taste and texture of its original dairy chocolate milk, conducting numerous trials to find the perfect blend of ingredients. With a blend of cashews and pea protein proving to be the winning formula, the dairy-free Chocomel offers the same velvety and chocolatey taste that fans have come to love. The new Chocomel Plant-Based will be available in one-liter cartons at UK supermarkets starting in January 2023, joining other plant-based chocolate milk options on the market.
