Aggressive Shoppers Push Animal Rights Protesters in Portswood Sainsbury’s Meat Aisle

Animal rights activists from Animal Rising staged a peaceful protest at a Sainsbury's store in Portswood, Hampshire, to bring attention to animal cruelty in farms under the RSPCA-Assured Scheme. While the activists remained calm, some shoppers aggressively tried to push through the protesters. The store manager, security guard, and police intervened to prevent the situation from escalating.

Following the protest, Hampshire Constabulary reported no issues requiring further police intervention. The protest comes after vegan wildlife TV presenter Chris Packham and former Green Party MP Caroline Lucas resigned from their roles at the RSPCA due to allegations of animal cruelty at RSPCA-Assured abattoirs. Animal Rising continues to raise awareness about animal exploitation in the agricultural industry and advocate for ethical treatment of animals.
