Aldi Launches Vegan ‘Lamb’ For Easter

Aldi is bringing back its vegan "lamb" joint just in time for Easter, offering the £4.49 No Lamb Roasting Joint as part of its Plant Menu line. Made with a mushroom base, rosemary and onion stuffing, and a pea, rosemary, and panko crumb, the product also comes with mint gravy. Aldi has been known for its range of plant-based options since launching its Plant Menu line in 2019, including items like pulled no pork burgers and no lamb koftas.

The plant-based food market is growing rapidly, with industry experts predicting a threefold increase from USD$11.3 billion in 2023 to USD$35.9 billion in 2033. Brands like Aldi are responding to the demand from not only vegans, but also the flexitarian market, estimated at around 12 percent of the British public. Aldi's commitment to providing tasty vegan options has been recognized, with the supermarket winning PETA's "Top Grocer" award for its plant-based offerings in 2020.
