Allplants Owner Buys Factory Out of Administration to Shore Up Plant-Based Manufacturing

Matthew Mills, co-owner of UK startup Allplants, has purchased Fairoak Foods out of administration in order to expand the plant-based meal brand's manufacturing capabilities. The acquisition includes a 6,700 sq ft factory in Surrey and saves approximately 60 jobs. Mills, along with his wife Ella Mills, plans to bring manufacturing in-house to enhance Allplants' portfolio and production footprint.

Fairoak Foods, a private-label manufacturer of chef-led vegan food products, specializes in product development, sourcing, manufacturing, and supply chain management. The acquisition comes at a time of growth for Allplants, which rebranded from the Plants brand of ready meals launched by Deliciously Ella in 2022. Despite facing challenges, Allplants is seeing strong growth and is set to introduce new product developments from the newly acquired site, while maintaining partnerships with existing manufacturers.
