Alpro Announces Switch to 100% British Oats Following Multi-Million-Pound Investment

Alpro has announced that it will switch to using 100% British oats in its oat milk, thanks to a multi-million-pound investment from parent company Danone. The investment has allowed Alpro to expand its facility in Kettering, where it will produce around 58 million liters of British oat milk annually, sourced from local farmers within 80 miles of the mill. This move aims to meet the increasing demand for locally made products and reduce food miles.

In addition to the shift to British oats, Alpro has previously invested in its Kettering facility, introducing new high-protein products and smaller pack sizes. These investments are part of Danone’s strategic move towards plant-based food and drinks, focusing on developing products that are both healthy and tasty. The British-made oat milk is now available UK-wide in two varieties — Original and No Sugars, aligning with Alpro's commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly production.
