Alternative Protein Companies Including Nature’s Fynd, Heura & Upside Foods Rank Highly in the FoodTech 500

The FoodTech 500, an annual ranking by Forward Fooding, has highlighted several alternative protein companies in its 2024 results. Nature’s Fynd, known for its Fy protein made from fungi fermentation, ranked third on the list, while Heura Foods, a Spanish plant-based brand, took the fifth spot. Upside Foods, which gained regulatory approval to sell cultivated chicken in the US, ranked tenth in the list.

Companies like Plantible, Starfield, Planet A Foods, and Gourmey also made the top 25, showcasing their innovative approaches to creating a better future of food through alternative protein products and sustainable practices.
