Animal Advocates Rally for Animal Rights in Frankfort, Kentucky 

Animal advocates in Frankfort, Kentucky, including groups like Kentucky Animal Action and The Arrow Fund, gathered for a rally to push for stronger animal rights bills in the state. Currently ranking 47th in the nation for animal protection, the advocates are specifically advocating for a puppy mill ban and the Cost of Care Act through Senate Bill 124. The supporters gathered at the Capitol during Kentucky Animal Action Day to make their voices heard.

Thom Ham, executive director of The Arrow Fund, spoke out about the importance of fair treatment for animals, sharing a heartbreaking story of a dog shot with an arrow. Lindsey Peetz, a volunteer with the organization, highlighted the significance of the younger generation joining the protests, emphasizing that they are the voice that matters. Michelle Lawson, founder of Kentucky Animal Action, emphasized the importance of the Cost of Care Act, which aims to hold animal owners responsible for the cost of care for their seized animals rather than taxpayers.
