The APAC Society for Cellular Agriculture (APAC-SCA) has expanded its regional network by adding two new Strategic Members from Malaysia and India. Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has joined through Dr. Mohamad Hafizi Abu Bakar, a sustainability leader and Senior Lecturer at the Bioprocess Technology Division. USM, ranked fifth globally in sustainability impact, will focus on research collaboration, talent development, and sustainable bioprocessing within the association.
In addition, Altruistic Innovations, a food and biotechnology consultancy founded by Sruthi Sadanand, has joined to bridge the gap between India and Singapore in cultivated meat and alternative protein consulting. The firm aims to connect strengths in science, biotechnology, and engineering from India with Singapore's regulatory experience. Through APAC-SCA, they will facilitate connections with stakeholders across Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, and Australia, enhancing the region's cellular agriculture ecosystem.
