Australia’s Wide Open Agriculture Appoints Univar as Exclusive Distributor of Its Lupin Products in Mainland China

Wide Open Agriculture (WOA) has appointed Univar Solutions China as the exclusive distributor of its lupin protein products in mainland China for an initial six-month term. Univar will purchase at least 50 tonnes of lupin protein isolate over the following 12 months, with the potential to extend the agreement based on performance. This partnership is part of WOA's global commercialization strategy to become a leading sustainable protein ingredient, focusing on supporting clean-label food innovation in China.

The agreement with Univar follows WOA's recent approval to export its lupin protein isolate to the Chinese market, where it has proven commercial applications in protein powders, plant-based milks, yogurts, and ice creams. This collaboration with Univar Solutions China, a prominent figure in the global ingredient distribution landscape, is expected to drive significant growth for WOA in one of the world's most dynamic markets for plant-based protein. It demonstrates WOA's commitment to sustainable food production and expands its reach in the rapidly growing Chinese market for high-quality, plant-based ingredients.
