Be Veggie, the vegan festival in the Basque Country, will be held on October 31 and November 1 at Ficoba in Irun for its eighth edition. The date change for the 2026 event marks a departure from its usual December weekend schedule since it began in 2019. The two-day programme will feature plant-based gastronomy, music, talks, workshops, and responsible consumption, with free entry for attendees on both days. Organisers are already confirming the lineup with names such as philosopher Angélica Velasco Sesma and sociologist Mirian Jiménez Lastra, discussing ethics, animals, and industrial farming.
The festival will include panels on topics such as veganism, sports, health, and reconnecting with nature. Speakers like ultra-distance runner Alberto Peláez and sports dietitian Muthanna Abusaada will share their experiences from a vegan perspective. Additionally, practical workshops on textile waste and botanical printing will be available, offering participants the opportunity to learn about sustainability and responsible consumption habits in a hands-on setting. The festival aims to promote a more conscious relationship with the environment and provide attendees with valuable information and experiences related to veganism and ethical living.
