Bayou Best Foods Buys Berlin Seaweed Brand BettaF!sh in Cross-Atlantic Seafood Deal

Bayou Best Foods has acquired BettaF!sh, a plant-based seafood brand based in Berlin, in a cross-Atlantic deal. BettaF!sh, known for its seaweed-based fish alternatives, will now be under the same owner as Bayou Best Foods, a US shrimp producer. The two companies plan to share their products across the Atlantic, with Bayou Best Foods offering its shrimp in Europe and BettaF!sh introducing its tuna and salmon substitutes in the US.

The acquisition brings together two women-led companies with complementary strengths - BettaF!sh with its European retail and foodservice presence, and Bayou Best Foods with its US distribution and commercialization experience. As the plant-based seafood market consolidates, this deal allows the companies to scale up and reduce duplication of resources.
