Believer Meats’ Large-Scale Cultivated Meat Facility Cleared for Operation by USDA

Believer Meats has received approval from both the FDA and USDA for its cultivated chicken product label and large-scale production facility in North Carolina. This approval allows the company to commence commercial production and distribution of its cultivated poultry in the US and for international markets. The facility in Wilson is the largest of its kind globally and is expected to be a central hub for Believer Meats' manufacturing and distribution operations.

CEO Gustavo Burger called the USDA approval a significant milestone that authorizes them to enter the market and start selling their cultivated chicken products. Believer Meats joins other companies in the sector like Upside Foods, GOOD Meat, Wildtype, and Mission Barns in being authorized to produce and sell cultivated meat in the US.
