Bettani Farms, a US startup, has recently acquired vegan cheese brands Stockeld Dreamery and Numu, as well as plant-based meat maker Hungry Planet, consolidating them under one brand umbrella. This move comes after the company raised $6.5M and rebranded from Climax Foods in October. With these acquisitions, Bettani Farms aims to expand its portfolio of dairy-free cheese and enter the plant-based meat market, positioning itself as a plant-based powerhouse in the industry.

One of the key developments is the acquisition of Stockeld Dreamery, a brand that had previously closed down due to a slowdown in the vegan cheese category. By acquiring Stockeld Dreamery, Numu, and Hungry Planet, Bettani Farms now offers customers a wide range of plant-based solutions. Additionally, Bettani Farms is focusing on commercializing vegan cheeses made from their plant-derived casein ingredient, Caseed, to address the lack of protein in non-dairy cheese alternatives. This strategic move aligns with the trend of consolidation in the alternative protein sector, with over 50 instances of mergers and acquisitions in the past 14 months.
