Bezos Centre @NUS Partners With Enterprise Singapore to Launch Sustainable Protein Startup Competition

The Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (Bezos Centre @NUS) has collaborated with Enterprise Singapore to launch a startup competition focused on accelerating early-stage sustainable protein innovation. The competition aims to support startups developing sustainable protein solutions, with three winners receiving funding and in-kind support to access Singapore’s ecosystem of resources. Part of Bezos Centre @NUS’s commitment to advancing sustainable protein solutions, the competition will be held annually, supporting up to 15 startups over a five-year period.

Startups participating in the competition will focus on addressing challenges related to food security and climate resilience, such as fermentation, cultivated meat, plant-based proteins, and food safety. The finalists will pitch their solutions at the Singapore International Agri-Food Week in November, with each winning team receiving seed funding and in-kind support of up to S$175,000. The initiative aims to bridge research with real-world impact, facilitating the transition of innovative sustainable protein technologies from the lab to the global market, with the support of Bezos Centre @NUS and Enterprise Singapore.
