The Vegan Society in the UK is celebrating its 80th year with an interactive exhibition titled “Veganism: Past, Present and Future” in Birmingham. Described as the world’s largest vegan exhibition, it explores the history of veganism, the current movement, and predictions for the future of plant-based and meat-free lifestyles. Visitors can experience a unique VR-based world showcasing the benefits of a vegan future as part of The Vegan Society’s “The Future Is Vegan” campaign.

The exhibition features images, objects, and videos outlining the foundation of The Vegan Society in 1944 and its ongoing work. It also highlights Birmingham's connection to veganism through figures like Benjamin Zephaniah. With a record low in meat consumption, growing concerns about animal welfare, and increasing interest in plant-based diets in the UK, the exhibition aims to educate and inspire visitors about the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. “Veganism: Past, Present and Future” is free to attend and will run until August 23, 2025 at the Library of Birmingham.
