BioCraft Pet Nutrition has partnered with Prefera Petfood to commercialize cat food made from cultivated mouse meat. The first product to be launched is a hypoallergenic mouse "mousse" that is nutritionally complete and provides a superior omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid ratio compared to traditional meat. Tests have shown that cats prefer this sustainable option, which closely resembles their natural small prey diet.

BioCraft has received registration in the European Union allowing them to use their cultivated ingredients. Third-party profiling has confirmed that these ingredients offer a similar nutritional profile to standard meat slurry used in pet food, while also being free of harmful substances. This partnership aims to bring about significant advancements in functional, sustainable, and ancestrally-appropriate pet nutrition, with plans to begin production by the end of 2025.
