Birdie the Piglet’s Daring Escape and Remarkable Recovery

Birdie the piglet was found on the side of a highway in Oklahoma after bravely escaping from a pig transport truck. Rescued by Misfits Of Oz Farm Sanctuary, Birdie was brought in with a broken leg, broken jaw, stomach hernia, and multiple wounds. Despite her injuries, Birdie showed resilience and progress, slowly healing and thriving under the care of the sanctuary.

Under careful treatment at Oklahoma State University’s veterinary hospital, Birdie's weight increased from five to nineteen pounds in just a month. Celebrated for her strength and spirit, Birdie became an inspiration to many, proving the impossible to be possible. Her incredible recovery showcased her determination and will to live, serving as a reminder of the importance of compassion towards animals.
