Black-Owned Winery Creating Vegan Wines Isn’t Niche, It’s Inclusive

Nicole Kearney, the founder of Sip & Share Wines, has created a boutique winery that specializes in artisan vegan wines while also promoting inclusivity in the wine industry. Kearney's love for wine began during her time in a writing program, where she hosted wine-tasting parties that eventually led her to be known as the Wine Lady among friends. Despite facing barriers and discrimination in the wine world, Kearney launched Sip & Share Wines to provide a space for Black and Brown wine enthusiasts to come together, share thoughts, and enhance their knowledge.

With a focus on creating an inclusive community around wine, Kearney believes that this new model of wine appreciation is the future. As one of the few Black women-owned wineries in the US, Sip & Share offers vegan wines that are not intimidating but welcoming to all. Kearney encourages people to explore boutique wineries like hers and try unique pairings, such as enjoying vegan wine with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Through her winery, Kearney aims to change the narrative in the wine industry and increase representation for Black-owned businesses.
