‘Blood On Your Hands’: Police Return Rescued Puppies To Animal Testing Facility

Animal rights activists broke into an animal testing breeding facility in the UK and rescued 18 beagle puppies, but police seized two others, Love and Libby. Despite public outcry and petitions, the police returned the dogs to the facility, where they could face euthanasia or a lifetime of suffering in experiments.

The facility, MBR Acres, owned by Marshall BioResources, breeds thousands of beagles each year for testing purposes. The UK conducts more animal tests than any other country in Europe, with beagles often used due to their docile nature. Animal testing has been shown to be unreliable and cruel, with viable alternatives available, leading to calls for an end to animal testing. Animal Rebellion organized the rescue operation and protests, facing potential arrest and up to 10 years in prison for their actions in the UK's largest open rescue.
