Blue Bottle Is Now Serving Oat Milk by Default at All Southern California Stores

Blue Bottle, a popular coffee roaster based in Oakland, is now serving oat milk as the default milk option at all of its Southern California stores. This initiative is part of their goal to become completely carbon neutral by 2024. The decision to offer oat milk as the default came after a successful three-month pilot program at select locations, which showed a decrease in dairy milk orders and a high preference for oat milk among customers.

The switch to oat milk is a significant step towards sustainability, as oat milk has a lower carbon footprint compared to dairy. Blue Bottle has chosen Oatly brand oat milk, known for its creamy texture and suitability for lattes and cappuccinos. With 22 Southern California locations now offering oat milk by default, this move is not only a win for the plant-based community but also reflects customers' growing preference for non-dairy milk options.
