Breaking: Racetracks Don’t Meet Tripadvisor’s Animal Welfare Standards

Tripadvisor has recently added a warning message to racetrack pages across the world, stating that these businesses do not meet the company's Animal Welfare Policy. The policy prohibits ticket sales and booking revenue from experiences where domesticated animals are at risk of injury or death for the sake of entertainment, including horse, dog, and camel racing, as well as rodeo-style events. This move by Tripadvisor highlights the global issue of animal welfare concerns within the racing industry.



Animal rights organization PETA has been advocating for the safety and well-being of horses on racetracks for years, exposing the dangers and risks they face, including fatal breakdowns and injuries. In the U.S. alone, hundreds of horses die each year racing or training at various tracks, sparking calls for the racing industry to prioritize the safety and welfare of these animals. The public is increasingly rejecting industries that harm animals, and travelers are urged not to support racetracks that mistreat and endanger horses.
