Burcon NutraScience has started commercial production of its Peazazz C pea protein at its newly acquired manufacturing facility in Galesburg, Illinois. This is the first time the company has had direct control over a commercial-scale production site, marking a significant operational milestone. The facility became operational in less than three months after commissioning and is now ramping up output, with revenue projections of $1 million to $3 million in 2025 and over $10 million in 2026. Positive cash flow is expected by the end of 2026.

In addition to the commercial production launch, Burcon announced a 20:1 share consolidation effective June 11, 2025. This consolidation was approved by the board and shareholders at the September 2024 annual general meeting to optimize the company's capital structure and unlock long-term value for shareholders. The Galesburg plant will provide capacity to support long-term contracts and recurring revenue as production scales, and the company is currently in discussions to secure customer supply agreements.
