Burger King Austria has made the decision to replace cow's milk with Oatly's Baristamatic oat milk in all of its Austrian locations. This oat milk has been specially developed for use in fully automatic coffee machines, with a smoother flow and higher fat content for a stable and creamy foam. The product is enriched with vitamins and calcium, providing a plant-based alternative for specialty coffees.

This move towards plant-based milk follows Burger King Austria's experiment in 2022 to increase the uptake of meat alternatives at one of its locations in Vienna. By offering plant-based meat as the default option, the chain aims to promote sustainable changes in the industry. Oatly Baristamatic oat milk has been introduced at the Anuga Alternatives trade fair and will launch at wholesalers throughout the month, setting a new standard for plant-based drinks in the professional field according to Oatly's General Manager.
