Burger King Austria recently announced that it would only serve Oatly oat drink in its coffee, but they have since reversed this decision and brought cow’s milk back to the menu. The restaurant chain had introduced the Oatly Baristamatic oat drink as part of its sustainable, plant-based menu options, which received positive feedback from customers. However, many customers expressed a preference for enjoying their coffee with cow’s milk, prompting the reintroduction of this option alongside the plant-based Oatly drink at Burger King's 63 restaurants in Austria.

According to CEO Hartmut Graf of The Eatery Group, the Austrian BURGER KING® master franchisee, Burger King aims to align their menu offerings with the preferences of their guests. While they continue to expand their plant-based product alternatives, they recognize the importance of catering to guest preferences, both in terms of food and beverages. This decision to bring back cow’s milk alongside the plant-based option reflects Burger King's commitment to accommodating the diverse needs and preferences of their customers as they continue to lead the market in plant-based offerings in Austria.
