Burger King Launches Vegan Bacon And Cheese At All 510 UK Restaurants

Burger King has introduced vegan bacon and dairy-free cheese to all 510 locations in the UK. The new menu additions include the Vegan Royale Bakon King and Plant-Based Bakon King, featuring meatless chicken patties and flame-grilled plant-based Whopper patties. French alt-meat manufacturer La Vie, supported by vegan actor Natalie Portman, expressed pride in partnering with Burger King to offer their plant-based bacon, emphasizing the importance of switching from animal-based to plant-based options.

Burger King's commitment to making half of its menu meat-free by 2030 aligns with the addition of vegan options. La Vie's unique advertising approach, which included a mock-up of their bacon in Burger King burgers in a French newspaper, ultimately led to a supply agreement with the fast food chain. As part of its efforts to expand its plant-based offerings, Burger King aims to continue working with La Vie to meet its sustainability goals in the UK.
