Can Vegans and Meat Eaters Find Love and Intimacy? This New Play Has Thoughts.

Becoming Vegan: A Musical Comedy explores the challenges of love and intimacy between a meat eater and a vegan through laughter, original songs, and thoughtful dialogue. The show follows the story of AJ, a vegan, and V, a meat eater pretending to be vegan, whose lie is exposed through music and humor. Writer Sarah Clemency aims to spark conversations about conflicts over ethics and personal values in relationships while providing audiences with a good time.

The musical does not aim to settle the debate on whether vegans should date non-vegans, but rather encourages honesty and self-reflection in relationships. Clemency hopes that the show will make people laugh while also prompting them to think about areas in their own lives where they have just been going through the motions. Becoming Vegan: A Musical Comedy can be seen at the AMT Theater in New York from October 27 through November 14 as part of Circle Fest Off-Broadway.
