Canadian startup Mid-Day Squares has received $8M in debt financing from Investissement Québec and Canada Economic Development for Québec Regions to expand production of its plant-based, high-fibre, high-protein vegan snack bars. This investment will allow the company to increase its annual production output to $250M and prepare for a launch at major US retailers like Walmart and Costco.
Mid-Day Squares, known for its plant-protein-filled snack bars, faced challenges due to rising cocoa prices and global shortages. To combat this, the company diversified its product line with non-chocolate options and is now focusing on broader distribution and higher profits. With plans to hit $100M in revenue by late 2028 or early 2029, Mid-Day Squares is optimistic about its future growth and success in the plant-based protein bar market.
