Canadian Agrifood Hub AgSphere Partners with EIT Food to Open European Market Access for Startups

Canadian agrifood innovation hub AgSphere has partnered with EIT Food in Belgium to provide Canadian startups with access to European networks, funding structures, and industry relationships. The collaboration will involve coordinating startup immersion programs, skills development, and cross-regional exchanges. AgSphere is currently assembling a cohort of Canadian startups to attend EIT Food’s Next Bite event in Warsaw in October to kick off the partnership.

EIT Food, supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, focuses on resilient agriculture, agrifood biotech, and protein diversification. Canadian startups in these areas will benefit from access to EIT Food’s network, potentially opening up procurement and investment opportunities that would otherwise require significant independent effort. The partnership aims to strengthen the global innovation community and make the food system more sustainable, accessible, secure, and transparent.
