Chicago’s Kitchen 17 Moves from Lakeview, Opens Upscale Restaurant

Kitchen 17, a popular destination for vegan deep-dish pizza, has relocated from Lakeview to Avondale in Chicago. The new location boasts a spacious dining room with two levels and a full bar, featuring upscale upgrades to the interior and menu. Owned by Jennie Plasterer, Kitchen 17 originally started as a vegan sandwich shop in 2013 before expanding to include deep-dish pizza and other plant-based offerings.

The revamped restaurant now offers a more upscale dining experience with crystal chandeliers, elegant curtains, and an improved cocktail menu. The menu has also been upgraded, with new additions such as a mac ‘n’ cheese entrée section featuring house-made soy cheese. Despite the upgrades, the beloved vegan deep-dish pizza remains a highlight, available in unique varieties like cheeseburger and jalapeño popper. Kitchen 17's new address is 2554 W Diversey Ave, Chicago, IL 60647, just across the street from Ravinia Brewing Company.
