CJ CheilJedang Now Sells Bibigo Plant-Based Dumplings in US Military Bases

CJ CheilJedang, a Korean food giant, has introduced its plant-based Bibigo dumplings at grocery stores inside US military bases in South Korea. The company launched its Giant Dumpling product range in original, japchae, and kimchi flavours, with a positive response from military personnel who tried them. The move allows CJ CheilJedang to expand its distribution channel and cater to the growing demand for plant-based options among US troops.

The company aims to further expand its plant-based offerings for US military personnel by introducing rice balls and frozen gimbaps. With plans to launch plant-based foods at military bases in other countries like Japan and Guam, CJ CheilJedang views plant-based food as a significant growth opportunity. Additionally, the US House of Representatives recently passed a requirement for the Defense Logistics Agency to produce a report on plant-based Meals, Ready-to-Eat (MREs), indicating a rising interest in vegan food options among service members.
