Company That Said ‘Tofu Sucks’ Launches Tofu (Made From Chickpeas)

Alternative protein company THIS, known for its "Tofu Sucks" advertising campaign, has launched a new chickpea tofu product in UK supermarkets. The company partnered with Omami to create "THIS is Omami Chickpea Tofu" in Lightly Seasoned and Chili Spiced flavors. The new chickpea-based tofu is said to have a creamier texture, require no pressing, and be high in protein and low in saturated fat.

The chickpea-based tofu, launched at Sainsbury's and Ocado, is part of THIS's efforts to provide delicious and nutritious plant-based food options. The move has been welcomed by The Tofoo Co, another tofu brand, which highlighted the growth of the meat-free category globally. Consumers are increasingly seeking whole food-based items with a health halo, and THIS has expanded its product offerings to include high-protein "superfood" options in addition to its meat alternatives.
