‘Cowspiracy’ Co-Director Announces New Film: ‘How To Make Drugs’

The new documentary 'How To Make Drugs' follows filmmaker Journey Zephyr as she investigates the use of animals in pharmaceutical testing in the US. Co-produced by Keegan Kuhn, known for films like Cowspiracy and What The Health, the film aims to expose the inefficiencies and ethical concerns surrounding animal testing in medicine. Despite the government spending $20 billion annually on animal tests, many experts believe them to be largely ineffective, with 92 percent of drugs that pass animal tests failing in human trials.

Featuring interviews with experts and activists, the film sheds light on the need for more humane alternatives to animal testing, such as computer models and lab-grown cells. Kuhn calls for the pharmaceutical industry to invest in these alternatives for the benefit of both humans and animals. 'How To Make Drugs' is set for release later this year, with screenings in Washington DC and a digital release in the works through crowdfunding efforts.
