Crespel & Deiters Adds Fava and Wheat Protein Crisps to Its Extruded Ingredients Range

German ingredient manufacturer Crespel & Deiters has introduced two plant-based, high-protein crisps for use in active nutrition products, snacks, and confectionery. The Lory IsoCrisp Fava Protein contains 50.5 g of protein per 100 g, while the Lory IsoCrisp Wheat Protein contains 65.4 g. The crisps come in two different sizes to accommodate various product formats and are soy-free, making them versatile additions to existing recipes without the need for reformulation.
The Fava Protein crisp is designed for chocolate-coated balls and bite-sized confectionery, while the Wheat Protein crisp provides a finer crunch for protein bars, porridge, cereals, and muesli. Both crisps are positioned as plant-based alternatives to milk and whey protein crisps, with the company citing rising milk protein prices as a driving factor for manufacturers to consider new formulations. Crespel & Deiters utilizes extrusion technology to produce the crisps, leveraging their expertise in plant-based raw materials to meet market demands for high-protein, functional ingredients.
