CULT Food Science Targets Mycelium and Hybrid Alternatives with Acquisition of The Better Butchers

CULT Food Science Corp., a Canadian company focused on cellular agriculture and lab-grown meat technologies, has entered into a binding Letter of Intent to acquire The Better Butchers Inc. The Better Butchers, initially focused on bringing cultivated meat to market in Canada, has shifted its focus to mycelium-based meat alternatives, using fungi-derived proteins for plant-based products.

The acquisition will see CULT acquiring 100% of The Better Butchers’ shares, with plans to eventually create hybrid products combining mycelium and cultivated meat. This move is in line with both companies' efforts to innovate in the cellular agriculture sector and bring products to market more quickly while navigating regulatory challenges. The deal is expected to strengthen CULT’s position in the industry, with further updates to come as the transaction progresses.
