Anders Klöcker, Head of Innovations at the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, will visit Madrid as part of Denmark's Plant-Based Diplomacy Initiative. He will present innovative plant-based policies from Denmark, including their Plant-Based Food Action Plan and financial support for plant-based foods. Key stakeholders from the Spanish food system are expected to attend the event to learn about Danish initiatives and why farmers support the plant-based food value chain.

Hanne Winter, EU Policy Director at the Vegetarian Society of Denmark, will join Klöcker in emphasizing the importance of collaboration and dialogue within civil society for the political prioritization of plant-based production and consumption. The visit to Madrid coincides with the Danish EU Council Presidency exploring the potential for a European-wide plant-based food action plan to support a more sustainable and resilient food system. The Spanish plant-based market is growing rapidly, but the consumption of processed meat is still high. Implementing a plant-based action plan in Spain could lead to a healthier and more sustainable future by increasing plant-based food availability and consumption.
