Danish Starch Producer KMC Signs UK Deal with Daymer Ingredients

Danish potato starch producer KMC has signed a distribution agreement with UK-based Daymer Ingredients to increase availability of its clean-label and specialty starch products in the British food manufacturing sector. Daymer will distribute KMC’s native potato starches initially, with plans to expand to include modified and functional starches tailored for specific industrial food applications. This collaboration aims to support manufacturers seeking plant-based and allergen-free alternatives to traditional animal-derived ingredients like eggs, gelatine, and dairy proteins.

KMC, a cooperative of Danish starch-potato farmers, has been supplying potato-based ingredients to over 80 countries for more than nine decades. With a focus on scaling production through agricultural practices and factory upgrades, KMC has emphasized plant-based and climate-conscious food systems. The partnership with Daymer Ingredients aligns with the growing demand in the UK food sector for reformulated products that meet sustainability, allergen management, and label clarity expectations, especially in plant-based product development. Both companies prioritize innovation, quality, and sustainability in providing functional ingredients that can replace animal-based components across various food categories.
