Danone Canada Launches Silk Greek-Style Yogurt with Locally Sourced Pea Protein

Danone Canada has launched a new product under its Silk brand, Greek-style, plant-based yogurt made with Canadian pea protein. Available in Vanilla and Key Lime flavors, the yogurt contains 12 grams of protein per serving. The company aims to meet the increasing consumer demand for plant-based options rich in protein, utilizing pea protein's complete amino acid profile.

The decision to exclusively source pea protein from Canada is a strategic move by Danone, supporting local producers amidst challenges faced by North American pea protein producers. The company's investment in expanding its plant-based portfolio, including brands like Alpro and So Delicious, further solidifies its position in the market. The new pea protein yogurt, along with improved coconut plant-based yogurt, is now available in major retailers across Ontario and will soon be rolled out nationwide.
