Danone is closing its plant-based dairy facility in New Jersey, resulting in the layoff of 114 employees due to challenges in its non-dairy business in North America. The French dairy giant announced the shutdown of the factory, where it produced products for its Silk and So Delicious Dairy-Free brands, after facing struggles with its alternative dairy portfolio.

Despite the closure and layoffs, Danone is still committed to the plant-based market, especially in the ready-to-drink beverage segment. The company has recently acquired plant-based nutrition brands and launched new products to remain competitive in the growing plant-based industry.
