Danone is shutting down its plant-based beverage facility in Bridgeton, New Jersey, affecting 114 employees. Production of Silk and So Delicious Dairy Free drinks will be moved to other Danone plants in Virginia, Texas, and Florida. Despite the closure of the plant-based facility, Danone is increasing its investments in conventional dairy operations. Recent announcements include expanded skyr production in France, capacity increases at facilities in Canada and Ohio, and a commitment to boosting yogurt output and raw milk processing. The company's strategy seems to be focusing on strengthening its core dairy business while winding down its plant-based operations in the US.
