Darko Mandich has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the BEAM Circular Accelerator, a program focused on promoting circular bioeconomy innovation. Mandich, who brings extensive experience in the bioeconomy sector, aims to guide the accelerator through its next phase of growth by connecting startups with partners across the network, securing funding for participants, and supporting their growth. The accelerator has also opened applications for its next cohort, offering comprehensive support to startups developing solutions in the circular bioeconomy, with up to five startups receiving $100,000 in total support, including non-dilutive grants, investments, and credits for the California Bioeconomy Innovation Campus.

The San Joaquin Valley, where the accelerator is based, is considered an ideal location for circular bioeconomy ventures due to its combination of large-scale agriculture, manufacturing infrastructure, and proximity to key biotechnology and venture capital hubs.
