The fourth quarter of 2025 witnessed significant growth in the alternative protein industry, with ten new production and innovation facilities being established globally. Nicholas Dahl, the founder and CEO of Alternative Proteins Global, compiled data on these new facilities, highlighting the technology and geography of each project. In the plant-based sector, dsm-firmenich launched its Van Marken Food Innovation Center in the Netherlands, focusing on dairy alternatives, while Yumgo expanded its plant-based eggs production site in France.

In the fermentation sector, Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) partnered with The EVERY Company and Vivici to explore a large protein fermentation ecosystem in Abu Dhabi. Solar Foods selected Finland as the site for "Factory 02" for air-based protein production, and Yeastup opened a facility in Switzerland for upcycling brewer's yeast into vegan protein. The cultivated meat industry also saw advancements, such as Believer Meats receiving USDA approval for its chicken production facility in North Carolina and ImpacFat launching a cultivated fish fat hub in Tokyo. Additionally, Givaudan and MiAlgae opened new production facilities in Ohio and Scotland, respectively.
